Otter Tail County, wrote this history series to celebrate the centennial of
the Pelican Rapids Press. He lives and writes on Daufuskie Island, South
Carolina. Pinckney's latest book, The Right Side of the River,
chronicles life on this remote barrier island. He is also author of Blue
Roots, the African-American Magic of the Gullah People. Both titles
